State education minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma, additional chief secretary (education) RK Mahajan and Board chairman Anand Kishor will jointly release the results of matriculation at 12.30pm on Tuesday. However, there will be no press conference due to pandemic.
Candidates, appeared in the examinations can check their results on www.onlinebseb.in and www.biharboardonline.com, which will be uploaded on these websites after the results, will be announced.
This year, the results got delayed due to nation-wide lockdown owing to Covid- 19 pandemic. The evaluation of answer copies were suspended from March 24 and it resumed from May 6. The evaluation of answer copies was completed on May 17 following which the Board conducted the physical verification of the toppers, which include IQ test.
The education minister told this newspaper on Monday that it was a big achievement for Bihar Board to announce the results in such a short span of time. “If the situation would be different, the results would be out by now. Still, we are ahead of other state boards and even national education boards,” Verma said.
He added: “The class X pass percentage and the scoring of toppers would more or less similar to previous year.”
Altogether 15,29,393 students including 7,83,034 girls wrote class X exam from February 17 to February 24 at 1,368 exam centres in Bihar. The top ten rank holders of each stream would get the scholarship under Desh Ratan Dr Rajendra Prasad Medha Chatravriti and would also get the cash prize and other incentives.
In 2019, the board announced the result on April 6 and recorded a pass percentage of 80.73% in class X.
Earlier on March 24, the BSEB had declared the intermediate results of all streams (science, commerce and arts) in a record time. The overall pass percentage has registered at 80.44%, number of students who cleared the class XII examination has slightly improved by 0.68% in comparison to last year’s 79.76%
