NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday chaired a review meeting on the prevailing coronavirus crisis in the national capital where it was decided that the Union home secretary and senior officials from the Central government, along with Delhi government, will decide the road map on facilities to be improved in the city.
The meeting was chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah along with union health and family welfare minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, which was also attended by Delhi LG Anil Baijal and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Here are the key points discussed during the meeting —

  • Testing of corona will be increased to two-fold in the next two days and after 6 days the testing will be increased to 3 times.
  • After a few days, testing will be started at every polling station in the Containment Zone.
  • In view of the shortage of beds, the Union government has decided to immediately give 500 railway coaches to Delhi.
  • These coaches will not only add 8,000 additional beds in Delhi but will also be equipped with all facilities to fight corona infection.
  • In order to be able to do contact mapping well in Delhi’s Containment Zone, a comprehensive health survey of every person will be done from house to house, whose report will come in 1 week.
  • Also, to have good monitoring, Arogya Setu app will be downloaded in every person’s mobile.
  • To provide correct information and guidelines for Corona to small hospitals in Delhi, Modi government has decided to constitute a committee of senior doctors for telephonic guidance in AIIMS. The helpline no to be released tomorrow.
  • Private hospital to provide 60% of corona beds at a low rate.
  • A committee will also take stock of treatment and testing at private hospitals.
  • The government will also release new guidelines for the funeral, which will reduce the waiting period for the funeral.
  • The government has decided to add Scout guides, NCC, NSS and other NGOs as volunteers in health services
  • The Central government assured the government of Delhi of full help in meeting necessary requirements like oxygen cylinders, ventilators, pulse oximeters and all other requirements to fight this epidemic.
