During this ongoing pandemic, fashion designers from across the country are stepping up to fight against the coronavirus. The Indian fashion industry is now re-evaluating its future and Mumbai-based designer Sonaakshi Raaj is one of them, who have joined hands with ‘I Love Mumbai Foundation’ to provide outfits from her collection to brides-to-be, who are also front-line workers and are engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Raaj took forward an initiative which started in Spain #LoveConquersAll by Pronovias to donate wedding dresses to brides-to-be among the frontline hard-working staff from hospitals. During this uncertainty – nurses, midwives and all the health workers are at the frontline battling this pandemic with the unseen enemy we all face today.
Adding, “This initiative ‘Dress The Warriors’ – Time to say thank you to all these unsung warriors. I would like to give back to the hospital workers in my small way by donating ‘Wedding Outfits’ to the nurses who are brides to be among them.
The NGO will help these brides connect with me and they can come and select an outfit of their choice. These heroes are risking their lives for our health and safety, so this is my attempt to extend my gratitude for them.”
“This is my way to thank and honour all the front-line workers”, says Sonaakshi.
