The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on Tuesday declared the results for SSC. Of the 7.30 lakh regular students who appeared for the examination, only 4.81 lakh cleared their examination which was a pass out per cent of 60.64%. The number of pass out was nearly 70,000 less as compared to 2019.
While of the 2.12 lakh repeaters who appeared for the examination only 9.10% cleared their examination. Among the 17,1717 external students who appeared only 1,051 cleared their examination with a pass out percentage of 6,12%%.
Girls have once again showed that they were much better than the boys. The pass out percentage of girls was 9.49%per cent more than that of the boys. The success ratio of girls was 66.02 per cent, while that of the boys was only 53.53 per cent.
This year at least in four subjects including Science and Technology, Social science, Mathematics, English second language and Sanskrit a total 276 students have scored 100 out of 100. According to board officials, 22,470 students failed in one subject, while 1.34 lakh students failed to clear their examination in two subjects. These students will be allowed to take the re-test which while be held in July.
Among the districts Surat had the highest pass out percentage of 74.46% while the lowest pass out percentage was of Chhota Udepur that was 47.47%. However, this year the number of schools getting 100% result was 281 which was 336 in 2019. This was a drop of nearly 55 schools as compared to 2018.
